Alternate assessment registration continues

Registration remains underway for the National Center and State Collaborative Alternate Assessment (NCSC) that will be used to assess students with the most significant cognitive disabilities in mathematics and English language arts.

The testing window is March 30-May 15.

Schools that have not yet provided student and test coordinator information to the Department should contact the Department’s Alternate Assessment Coordinator Sue Nay at sue.nay@maine.gov or 624-6774 as soon as possible to ensure all alternate assessment eligible students in grades 3 through 8 and those in the third year of high school are included in this assessment.

Test Coordinators (TCs) designated by special education directors through a recent Department survey will receive a welcome email from NCSCServiceDesk@measuredprogress.org with the subject lineReplacement login information for [user_name] at NCSC Assessment System.”  Emails with step-by-step directions will be sent to registered TCs, who will then be able to register designated Test Administrators.

For information or technical assistance related to the alternate assessment, please contact the Department’s Alternate Assessment Coordinator Sue Nay at sue.nay@maine.gov or 624-6774.
