Applications are now being accepted to participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) in the 2015-16 school year.
The FFVP is a federal program under the National School Lunch Program that offers fresh fruits and vegetables to grades 8 and under at no charge. Priority is given to schools with at least 50 percent or more of their students qualifying for free and reduced price lunch based on Oct. 31, 2014 counts reported to the Maine DOE. The applicable free and reduced percentage for a district can be found on the NEO report web page. Schools approved for this grant purchase product and then submit reimbursement with the monthly claim form.
Applications, which are due Friday, April 17, can be requested by emailing Maine DOE’s Alissa Mank at alissa.m.mank@maine.gov.
