Nearly 10,000 certifications have been processed this summer at the Maine DOE and the certification team is not done yet. These certifications include all educators’ certifications and criminal history record checks on all those in food services, transportation, adult education, driver’s education and more.
In July, new hours and a policy for processing applications from in-person visits went into effect at the Department. Beginning in September, individuals will be able to drop off applications for processing in a secure locked box in the reception area of the Department (located on the 5th floor of the Cross Office Building in Augusta). All applications will be processed in the order they are received.
Maine DOE’s certification team extends thanks to all who have gone and are going through this process for their patience and understanding. This upcoming year, the certification team is building a new online credentialing system. Look for updates as we move into this new, exciting, and more efficient processing system.
