The Maine Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD) Annual Conference, 70 Years Going Strong…Still Making a Difference, will be held Nov. 1 – 3 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.
Over 50 sessions will be offered covering content, teaching strategies, systemic educational practices and programs, and a presentation by former New England Patriots tight end Jermaine Wiggins sponsored by Fuel Up To Play 60. This is an opportunity to learn the latest information about proficiency-based education as well as the most effective and up-to-date health education and physical education lessons/programs for students. The conference includes sessions for adaptive physical education; helpful and practical uses of technology; interactive, skill-based teaching strategies; and proficiency-based learning and standards-based assessments.
