Healthy, active conference coming up

The Maine Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD) Annual Conference, 70 Years Going Strong…Still Making a Difference, will be held Nov. 1 – 3 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.

Over 50 sessions will be offered covering content, teaching strategies, systemic educational practices and programs, and a presentation by former New England Patriots tight end Jermaine Wiggins sponsored by Fuel Up To Play 60.  Conference details, updates and registration information can be found on the MAHPERD website.

This is an opportunity to learn the latest information about proficiency-based education as well as the most effective and up-to-date health education and physical education lessons/programs for students. The conference includes sessions for adaptive physical education; helpful and practical uses of technology; interactive, skill-based teaching strategies; and proficiency-based learning and standards-based assessments.
