Changes regarding the upcoming Special Education Child Count

School administrative units are advised to verify the “Special Education Students for Federal Count” report in Infinite Campus and ensure that all student records in ICSE are updated by Oct. 15 for accurate reporting of Part I of the Special Education Child Count (EF-S-05).

The “Special Education Students for Federal Count” report in ICSE automatically refreshes each hour between now and Oct. 15. If changes to any student enrollments are made after that time, a manual refresh of this report must be requested by calling the MEDMS Help Desk at 624-6896.

The “Special Education Federal Count Certification” can be submitted to the Department from Oct. 16 through Oct. 31.

Be aware some procedures for submitting Report of Services to Students with Disabilities Part I (EF-S-05) are different this year. Detailed instructions can be found here.

The due date for Part II of the Special Education Child Count has not yet been determined. Further information will be provided when available.
