Maine Department of Education’s Early Childhood Specialist Sue Reed moderated a panel at the Maine Association for the Education of Young Children spring conference this past Saturday.
Five teachers and administrators from across the state each presented on one model of formative assessment used with children, one of which Reed moderated discussing formative assessment in the early years. Three models were from birth to age five, one was on kindergarten, and one was a formative assessment to be used with first graders.
Eighty early childhood educators attended and the presentation held at Thomas College. For more information about early childhood education, click here or contact Maine DOE’s Early Childhood Specialist Sue Reed at 624-6632 or sue.reed@maine.gov.
