Students at Windham High School (RSU14 Windham Raymond Schools) are exploring future careers in new and exciting ways through the Student Exploratory Adventures program! This innovative career-connected learning initiative gives students opportunities to engage in hands-on experiences, build workplace skills, and explore career pathways that match their interests and goals. At Ellsworth High School, the “4th Door” alternative education program is helping students thrive through relationship-centered, student-driven learning. From personalized pathways and restorative practices to work-based learning opportunities, the program is creating a supportive environment where students feel connected, empowered, and successful. Members of the Maine Department of Education Office of School and Student Supports wore blue today — along with matching virtual backgrounds — in recognition of Foster Care Awareness Month. 💙 The Maine DOE has launched a new interactive tool to help school and SAU staff respond quickly and effectively during health emergencies. During #TeacherAppreciationWeek, we’re tapping into student voice to help celebrate the educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of Maine students every single day. 🍎 Applications are now open for the Leading Early Learning Fellowship—a professional learning opportunity for elementary school administrators across Maine! 🍎 At Oxford Hills School District MSAD #17, students took the lead in planning and hosting their annual Respect Day—creating meaningful opportunities for peers to explore culture, identity, and community through engaging workshops and activities. Today, the Maine Department of Education joins the @nasnschoolnurses and the Maine Association of School Nurses in celebrating National School Nurse Day (May 6) and the incredible impact of school nurses across our state!
