A national organization is recognizing Nancy Dube, the Maine Department of Education’s school nurse consultant, for her contributions to school nursing and school health programs.
The National Association of State School Nurse Consultants will present Dube with the Outstanding State School Nurse Consultant Achievement Award during the association’s national conference in Washington, D.C., from June 26 to July 3.
The Maine Association of School Nurses nominated Dube for the recognition, and supplied recommendation letters from the Maine Department of Education, Maine School Management Association, former Maine Center for Disease Control director Dr. Dora Anne Mills and others.
“The inspiring letters so clearly reflected Nancy’s character and skills, and the valuable broad-based relationships that she has established as Maine’s school nurse consultant to support the safe practice of school nurses and to promote quality health care for school age children in Maine,” Brenda White, the Maine Association of School Nurses president, wrote in an email.
