A new resource is available to help Maine school personnel learn more about the synthetic drug “bath salts.”
The Northern New England Poison Control Center is offering a recorded webinar presentation about the synthetic drug. One part has information for the general public; the other is geared to health care professionals.
The Northern New England Poison Control Center is working to provide continuing education credits to those who view either of the webinars. Currently, Maine and New Hampshire Emergency Medical Services personnel are eligible for credits.
The webinar is a slide and audio presentation recorded by Dr. Karen Simone, director of the Poison Control Center, and Dr. Tamas Peredy, the Center’s medical director.
The presentation is available for viewing at any time. Click on the “NNEPC Bath Salts Webinars” link in the “Resources” section at the bottom of the Maine Department of Education’s bath salts information page, http://www.maine.gov/education/sh/bathsalts.html.
