Winter camp emphasizes survival skills

Children of military families ages 14 to 18 are invited to attend Winter Survival Camp during the week of February vacation at the University of Maine’s 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond in Oxford County.

The week-long program will emphasize outdoor survival skills and wilderness travel by snowshoe and dogsled. The cost is $10.

The adventure camp is sponsored through a U.S. Department of Defense grant and is intended to provide high-quality outdoor experiences for teens with parents in active duty military service.
