Physical Ed teachers honored at conference

The Maine Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance recognized the 2011 Physical Education Teachers of the Year at the group’s 66th annual conference in November.


The Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year is Eric Pulsifer of Woodside Elementary School in Topsham. The Secondary Physical Education Teacher of the Year is Joe Cormier of Freeport Middle School.

Approximately 500 educators attended the three-day conference, which offered sessions in all four disciplines as well as Adapted Physical Education and other related topics.

The awards were presented by MAHPERD President Jayne Chase, also the Maine Department of Education Physical Education Consultant.
