The Maine Department of Education is seeking recommendations for the 2013 Maine Educator Talent Pool.
The Talent Pool is made up of teachers and principals who can be considered for local and state advisory boards and task forces along with opportunities for special recognition through the Department of Education.
The Talent Pool is currently seeking elementary educators (K-5) relatively new to the profession (five to 18 years of experience) who demonstrate a one-of-a-kind instructional ability; inspire their students, colleagues and community members; and have strong leadership potential.
Candidates are typically certified classroom teachers holding a Bachelor’s degree. Previous recognition is not required. In fact, the Educator Talent Pool is especially interested in educators who are outstanding, but have not received other recognition.
The Talent Pool is accepting recommendations through April 29. Visit the Talent Pool web page to download a recommendation form.
Please provide confidential, succinct and specific information regarding candidates on the recommendation form. All questions must be answered, preferably typewritten. Please include a one-page narrative with this form that addresses how a candidate meets the Talent Pool criteria, and a resume from his or her personnel file.
We ask that you keep this recommendation confidential and do not share it with the individual.
