The Maine DOE Center for Best Practice is pleased to announce the release of two new videos exploring the shift to proficiency-based/learner-centered practice. The first video is Regional Possibilities: Collaboration in Western Maine, which focuses on the importance and power of bringing together educators from different buildings and districts to collaborate and build understanding. The second video, One Conversation at a Time: Getting the Message Out, focuses on the importance of messaging and communication for all stakeholders.
The Department’s Center for Best Practice, supported by the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, was established to focus on research and reporting related to proficiency-based systems here in Maine. The Center serves as a clearinghouse of materials, support and case studies related to learner-centered instructional practices.
