Governor LePage to celebrate students, technology on National Manufacturing Day

Students, educators, families and communities are invited to celebrate National Manufacturing Day in various locations across the state on Oct. 4. This annual event aims raise awareness and appreciation of manufacturing in the United States and highlight students and technology.

The Manufacturers Association of Maine will host events in Gorham, Orono and Belfast, with additional events taking place across the state. Governor Paul R. LePage and Senator Angus King will join participants at the Gorham event to experience hands-on manufacturing.

10 to 11 a.m.

Maine Advance Manufacturing Center (AMC), Orono
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
During this open house, visitors will learn about the capacity and capabilities of AMC, including rapid prototyping and 3D printing demonstrations.

Public tours at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
