Maine educators can feel confident that the 2016 assessment of mathematics and ELA/literacy will be compatible with the overwhelming majority of computers and tablets currently in our schools.
The new assessment will allow students using older MLTI laptops, which many schools purchased following the last MLTI laptop deployment, to access the tests.
Also, Windows XP machines will be supported, meaning nearly any machine in Maine schools will be able to access this test. Because of the robust internet connections in Maine’s schools via the Maine Schools and Library Network, we anticipate a successful administration this spring with minimal impact on bandwidth as students test.
The specifications for student test taking devices are posted here. Because the new assessment is delivered via servers hosted online, there is no requirement for local schools to build or maintain local servers for test delivery.
