The MEA Alternate Mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy assessment known as the Multi-State Alternate Assessment (MSAA) is moving forward. On Friday, February 19, all students and Test Coordinators were registered in the MSAA System. Test Coordinators may now begin registering Test Administrators.
By February 26, the Maine Department of Education needs the information to identify non-verbal students in grades 3 and 4 requiring Form One, for the foundational reading items assessed at those grades. Specific procedures are used when assessing students that are blind, deaf, and deaf/blind and must be requested as well. Please contact sue.nay@maine.gov with these requests.
The Department of Education is pleased to announce two webinars:
February 29 – 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. – This is specifically for Test Coordinators. This webinar will help you: navigate the MSAA System, add a Test Administrator, view students, and more.
March 21 – 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. – This is specifically for Test Administrators. This webinar will help you: navigate the MSAA System, complete training, look at student requirements, begin and administer a test, apply a stopping rule, submit a test, and complete after-test information.
A registration link will be sent to TCs and TAs directly through the TC outlook list and the TA list serve as soon as one is available.
