The Maine DOE has added to the MUSER FAQs on the subject of parentally placed private school children two questions on the subject of payment by SAUs for children with IEPs to attend private schools not approved for special education.

The Maine DOE has been notified of the requirement to submit Maine teacher shortage areas by Dec. 15 for designation by the U.S. Department of Education (U.S. DOE) for the 2014-2015 school year. AUGUSTA – The Maine Charter School Commission (MCSC) has received applications from four groups interested in opening public charter schools in the fall of 2014.
Those submitting applications by the Dec. 2 deadline to join Maine’s five existing public charter schools included Lewiston-Auburn Academy Charter School, Lewiston; Maine Connections Academy; Maine Virtual Academy; and Many Hands Montessori School, Windham.
