The Department of Education often receives payments by check from schools and school districts for workshops and other services. The checks often come in without a clear indication of their purpose.
The Department would greatly appreciate it if, when writing these checks, schools would include a note on the advice portion of the check specifically indicating the payment’s purpose.
If it is for a workshop, for example, indicate which workshop it is. Otherwise, it is difficult and time-consuming for Department staff to determine where the money should be directed.
This notation will assist the Department in processing payments without delay.
